 AGES ACCEPTED AND HOURS OF OPERATION:
We accept ages 8 weeks to 12yrs. Our hours of operation are from 6am to 6:30pm during the summer months of June 1st to July 31st. Winter months of August 1st through May 31 we are open 6a.m to 10 p.m if staff availability and or management approval. I will stay open no later than 10pm o’clock. Fees will be assessed for every minute after the agreed pickup time if not picked up at that time.

SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN
Little Love Bugs Daycare and Learning Center complies with the supervision ratio required by State Licensing, and at all times will meet the staff ratio requirements with regular or substitute employees in every class. If there are children with high needs in a classroom, the staff: child ratio may be increased.
PARENTAL ACCESS AND VISITING POLICY
Here at Little Love Bugs Day care and Learning Center we have an open door policy. We do ask that parents try not to come at nap time due to the disturbance of other children we may be putting down for naps as well. We encourage our parents to come in and visit their child or children whenever possible. We do require a phone call letting us know what day and time you will be visiting us so we can prepare the other children for a visitor. Only those who are authorized for pick up of a certain child will be allowed to come during the day to visit, unless the parent calls in to give permission for that person to come. The safeties of all children that attend Little Love Bugs Day care come first.
PARENT PERMISSION POLICY FOR ACTIVITIES AWAY FROM THE FACILITY
All activities that require going outside the fence will have permission slip containing all information about the upcoming activity. The permission slip will be sent home with your child or children’s name on it. If the permission slip is not signed, and turned in by the designated time, your child will not be allowed to attend the activity for that day. He or she will have to stay at the daycare with the employee on duty. All away trips will be posted two weeks to one month in advance.

If and when Little Love Bugs Day Care has a, bring a pet to day care day, all parents will be given a permission slip to sign for approval or disapproval. We only bring in animals that are well behaved. If your child has any allergies to animals please list them here:
FIREARMS IN THE FACILITY
Little Love Bugs Day Care reserves the right to refuse any person carrying firearms upon entering the facility. No firearms are allowed in Little Love Bugs Day Care by anyone. If firearms brought into the daycare its grounds for instant termination of care. You will be required to gather your things and pay your account in full.
POISONOUS PLANTS
 Little Love Bugs Daycare enjoys teaching the children about plants, how they grow and what they need to survive. We will not grow poisonous plants of any kind. All plants will be researched prior to the children planting them.
DROP OFF AND PICK UP:
Please accompany your child into the center when dropping off and picking up. We will open our doors right at 6am and close promptly at 6pm, (8pm if needed) or the agreed upon time for pick up. If child is still here past closing time there will be a fee assessed for every minute thereafter. Fees are stated on page 2 in this policy packet. We require the parent to follow the schedule provided for their child’s daycare times.
ATTENDANCE:
- We ask that we be notified at least a week in advance if the days and/or times of your child’s attendance are going to change at any point during their attendance.
- We also require notification of any extended absences for your child (change in status form). You will still be billed your normal enrollment rates agreed upon even if your child does not attend. For we are keeping a slot just for your child
- A full time day is anything over 5 hours, up to 10 hours. Any Attendance over 10 hours and UP TO 12 hours MAX will be billed an overtime rate per child attending plus $3.00 a min pass 12 hours. (YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN must be picked up by the 12th hour of attendance. If not picked up by the 12th hour you will be billed $3.00 a minute until picked up. This charge is not negotiable.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
All information regarding the children and their families are handled as highly confidential. There is no exception to this policy.
STAFF:
Love Bugs only hires competent, well trained employees who have three personal references on file, as well as CPR and First Aid training, employee’s undergo background checks for criminal and child abuse history and submit to random drug testing, and who are required to have extensive experience with children and are highly family oriented people. In the event that Love Bugs Owner and or Employee’s are sick or have a emergency and can’t work, we will provide a very knowledgeable and qualified adult to substitute tell able to return.
BEHAVIOR GUIDANCE
• Little Love Bugs Day care facility shall help a child to develop age-appropriate patterns of behavior that foster constructive relationships and increasing ability to deal with everyday life. (We will teach your child how to use their please and thank you, ways to deal with anger by using their words by talking it out instead of using violence. (This approach does not always work) Depending on the degree of the situation being biting, hitting or scratching your child may be sent home, if blood is drawn we will call the parents and talk it over to see what the best approach is for their child. We can separate your child per your request if unable to pick up due to work situations. Depending on the child’s age it may be just teaching him or her how to use a fork or spoon )
• Little Love Bugs Day facility shall provide positive reinforcement by acknowledging and praising your child to encourage good self esteem. Give redirection when needed and a setting of realistic expectations, with clear and consistent limits.
• Little Love Bugs Day facility may not use discipline or behavior management technique that is cruel, humiliating, or otherwise damaging to the child. We prefer you to have the children work the problem out by using their words, if the child is not of talking age we will do our best to demonstrate the good and bad of whatever situation that may have arisen.
CHILD ABUSE REPORTING:
Love Bugs is required by law to, and does report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect. Alaska State Law requires that child care providers, who in the performance of their professional duties, have reasonable cause to suspect that a child has suffered harm as a result of abuse or neglect, to immediately (as soon as reasonably possible-No later than 24 hour) report that information to the nearest office of the state’s Department of Health & Social Services, Office of Children’s Services. PARENT’S GUIDE TO LICENSED CHILD CARE

INFANT, TODDLER AND PRESCHOOLER CARE:
Each child will be provided a comfortable sleeping area on a mat or toddler bed. The bedding to include any sheets, blankets, mats, mattresses, and/or pillows will be washed and sanitized by the facility. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide diapers, pull-ups, wipes, bottles, formula if you decline the formula offered by Love Bugs Daycare, pacifiers, and change of clothing, slippers and baby food for your child. We ask that these items be labeled with your child’s name. We have a daily schedule posted on our Parent Bulletin Board, as well as a copy for parents to take home upon request. We read books and have creative time, outside play, and learning times on a daily basis.
TV AND COMPUTER LEARNING
TV time is limited to 1 ½ hours in a 24 hr period. Except for special occasions; Little Love bugs shall ensure that these activities are limited to programs and games specifically designed for the interest and benefit of the child. Computer learning activities will not exceed 2 hours per day. Love Bugs will watch Disney movies and educational videos only. We strongly encourage parents to voice any opinions or concerns on children’s behavior and development so we can accommodate your concerns.
MEALS:
We provide a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day that are based upon teaching children a fun way to eat nutritiously. A menu is available. We may also do meal preparing as a group activity project.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS:
Your child will have his or her own cubby to place all belongings. We ask that you put your child’s name on articles that belong to him or her so they don’t get mixed up, as we may have children that have the same stuff.
COLD WEATHER OUTDOOR PLAY:
Please provide adequate clothing for all weather conditions as we will be playing outside on a daily basis. Love Bugs will not go outside when the temperature drops below 10 degrees in the winter, also when there is extreme weather conditions like fast winds, hail, and blizzard like conditions. Love Bugs will bunker up inside and have popcorn and watch the cold instead of being cold
HYGIENE:
We request that all children’s hygiene be tended to on a daily basis at home, as it is a top priority to us when they are in our care. We wash hands before each meal and after each outside play session.
SUBSTITUTES OR EMERGENCY CARE:
In the event of a 911-Type Emergency Parents need to make their own arrangements when licensee is unable to provide care due to illness or injury and a substitute care taker cannot be notified within a appropriate time frame but, if a substitute caregiver can be provided under such short notice you will not have to find other arrangements for your child care.

• If a child bits OR scratches (0n purpose) another child and leaves no visible marks and or does not draw blood they are able to remain in care.
• If a child bits OR scratches (0n purpose) does not draw blood but leaves a full set of teeth marks, fingernail marks and or bruising they will be sent home.
• If a child bits OR scratches (0n purpose) and does draw blood a call will be placed to the parent and that parent will be required to come pick up their child. An incident report will be written up for each child, names will remain confidential.

SICK CHILDREN:
These are common symptoms that a child has a contagious condition, / Active sneezing or coughing/ Colored discharge from nose. / A sore throat (with fever of 100 or higher and or swollen glands). / Discharge from eyes or ears. / Diarrhea (three or more watery stools in 24 hours). / vomiting (two or more times in 24 hours). / A fever by itself of (100 degrees Fahrenheit or more). We will provide medicine if parent approves but child still has to go home if fever is 100 degrees or more./ An eye infection./ Rash (especially with a fever or itching)./ Lice or nits.
If a child shows signs of being sick while in our care, we will request the parent come pick up the child. In the mean time the child will be separated from the other children and kept as comfortable as possible while they wait to be picked up.

MEDICATION:
If your child needs to take any medication LOVE BUGS staff will require you to fill out our Authorization for Medication form before administering any to your child. Any medications, prescription or over the counter, are required to be in their original container and labeled with your child’s name. Dosages may not exceed the prescribed dose for prescription meds: to the manufacturer’s dosage instructions for OTC meds unless I receive a Written prescription to do first.
TRANSPORTATION
For school age kids transportation will no longer be provided to and from distant schools. Only provided to bus stop next to daycare facility located at end of our driveway.
LOVE BUGS RATES:
We offer enrollment (slot held), attendance (must call in for availability everyday), daily and hourly rates per age group.

***Very Important***DAYCARE ASSISTANCE AUTHORIZED PARENTS
• For those parents applying for daycare assistance: Daycare assistance starts paying form the date you turn in your application nothing before that. Any care given at Love Bugs before your application date will be at your responsibility to pay. If no authorization has been give at time of enrollment, but is being processed Parent is required to pay a set amount of $300 for Full Time enrollment and $150 for Part Time enrollment towards their co-pay. Once your authorization comes in your account will be adjusted accordingly to your authorization. Your account will be credited or charged the difference of what is authorized for care. Upon registering at Little Love Bugs Daycare you will be required to fill out our parent Policies and Procedures packet at that time we will fill in the terms of agreement for care (Monthly full or part time or daily care) this will be your responsibility to pay if for any reason you do not qualify for assistance. At that time you will be responsible for paying all the prior months of care to Little Love Bugs Daycare. *Once your case is closed with daycare assistance you cannot go back and have them back pay for the care services used. This is a very important fact please if you have any question don’t hesitate to call or go into the Daycare Assistance Office for more information.
• Authorized children must be picked up by the authorized time Authorized by daycare assistance. If your child is scheduled to be picked up by 5 and you show up by 6:30, one hour and a half past the authorized time you will be billed Love bugs hourly rate for that hour and a half. Daycare assistance does not pay for this fee.)
Discounts: Effective July 09 (Does not apply to Daycare assistance Parents)
• (Cash payers with monthly enrolled children only) Early Payment on account, if you pay the amount owed on your account on or before the 3rd Monday of the month, prior to the month your tuition is due you will receive a $50 discount or credit to your account for full time status and $25 for part time enrollment status.
• Multi children discount, Enroll 3 or more children and get $50 total off each months billing when enrolled monthly full time. Get $25 off each months billing when enrolled 3 or more children for monthly part time. All children must be enrolled on a monthly enrollment plan and be in active status in order for you to qualify for the Multi Children discount. Daily attendance does not qualify.
